In principle, however, the structure of the nasal bones remains unchanged.
There are the upper nasal bone, the upper and lower nasal cartilages, and the middle nasal septum. If there are nasal humps on the nose, they are removed hammer-free using special instruments. The nasal bridge is then rasped. The right and left sides of the septum are cut longitudinally, followed by two horizontal cuts at the top of the nose. At the alar, the upper portions are separated with a longitudinal cut. Previously removed bone grafts are then inserted into the cuts made in the septum.
The horizontal graft, which supports the nasal tip, is secured with a few stitches. Two further horizontal incisions ensure that the nose becomes even slimmer by subsequently compressing it. In addition, narrow silicone splints are placed inside the nose to stabilize the overall appearance. The entire procedure leaves no externally visible scars.
