Manual Planting

In the manual procedure, that is, the procedure we perform, the grafts are implanted by hand into small prepared incisions. These incisions are made with a special scalpel at a pre-defined angle to make the implantation appear discreet and natural.

The placement of each individual graft allows for precise natural alignment, unlike the implantation with a pen: a significant advantage when later combing the hairstyle, as the growth direction of the remaining hair is taken into account. This is something that is not possible with the DHI method, for example, as the desired direction cannot be influenced as effectively. Although the manual method is somewhat more cumbersome, it ensures the best results.

The Procedure

The width of the cuts is adapted to the size of the grafts, with three column sizes usually being created. The first smaller columns are filled with just one hair. The medium-sized version receives two hairs, and the larger columns can accommodate up to four hairs. The graft must be handled gently to avoid damage. The follicles also adapt quickly to the new region and anchor themselves rapidly in the skin.

Advantages and Disadvantages

  • Very precise extraction and implantation of hair follicles through direct manual control

  • Especially gentle approach, as pressure, depth, and angle can be individually adjusted

  • High control over the placement of individual grafts for a natural appearance

  • Suitable for detailed work, such as densifications, corrections, or smaller treatment areas

    Disadvantages

  • Higher treatment costs due to significantly higher time and personnel effort

  • The procedure is more labor-intensive, as each extraction and implantation is done manually and individually

  • Longer treatment duration compared to motorized methods

  • The method requires very experienced specialists, which is reflected in the price

  • Not always economically viable for very large areas or very high graft numbers
